ITINERARY OF: 4 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO FES
We will begin our 4 DAYS TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO FES VIA DESERT, to the southeast across the High Atlas through Tizi-n-Tichka pass, with a far-reaching vista from the mountains, traveling to the old High Atlas Berber communities, after we have met at the agreed-upon location.
Then we'll go to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you'll eat lunch at one of the Kasbah restaurants. After that, we'll continue on to Dades Valley, where we'll spend the night in a hotel or riad.
We’ll leave Merzouga after breakfast and head to Erg Chebbi. Along the way, there are several Berber communities. We’ll pass via Todra Gorges, Tenghir, Tinjdad, and Erfoud, where we’ll get a taste of the Saharian oasis of Tafilalet.
Then we’ll continue driving to a hotel in Merzouga, where you’ll put some of your belongings in a compact bag (only what you’ll need for the night in the desert) and leave the rest at the hotel.
After that, we’ll go on an adventure crossing the Erg Chebbi dunes on camels.
This is a fantastic opportunity to photograph the sunset and sunrise. We will trek on foot to the highest dunes for sandboarding and watch the sunset once we get to the camp.
In the middle of the Sahara, we will spend the night in a camp of Berber nomad tents with drumming music.
The first day in the desert will begin with a drive to Khamlia village, home to black-skinned Berbers, to enjoy their amazing music and different dances, then continue on to a nomadic family to learn about their lifestyle and enjoy a cup of tea, before continuing on to a one-hour and a half stop for lunch under the shade of a desert tree.
In the afternoon, we’ll return to the hotel for a cup of minty tea and to relax before the 1hr 30min camel ride to the camp, during which we’ll experience a spectacular sunset and skiboarding from the top of the next highest dune to the camp.
Spend the night under a sky lighted up by millions of stars while listening to Berber music, and you’ll feel like a nomad.
